JO ROBERTSON
Therapist, Sexual Health & Parent Consultant
Jo is a qualified therapist who has completed her Master of Science in Medicine, with a focus on international consumption rates and impacts of porn on adolescents.
Jo has a private therapeutic practice specialising in problematic sexual behaviours, sexual dysfunction and relationship breakdown.
She has previously practised as a school counsellor, with children and young people presenting with physical and sexual trauma, alongside providing sexual health education to professionals, parents/caregivers, and young people. Jo co-founded The Light Project.
Jo did a TEDx talk in 2019 titled ‘Why we need to talk about porn’ and speaks internationally on youth, sexual culture and media influences.
She has a series of online courses called ‘Tricky Chats’ developed to empower parents to develop great connections and conversations with their kids around difficult topics like ‘porn’.

HOLLY BROOKER
Parenting Presenter, Child Safety Advocate, PR Consultant, Writer.
Holly Jean Brooker is a child online safety advocate, co-founder of Makes Sense, educator, writer, and PR specialist. She is currently completing a Master of Public Policy at the University of Auckland, driven by her commitment to advancing policies that better protect children in the digital world.
Holly’s background spans high school education (health and humanities) and over 15 years in the corporate sector, where she ran her own communications and PR business, The Media Project. Passionate about parenting education, she has worked as a content developer, media presenter, and facilitator for a nationwide parenting organisation, with a focus on supporting families to navigate technology safely.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Politics and a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary).
Holly’s advocacy work is shaped by personal and professional experiences. As a young person, a close family member’s conviction for child sexual abuse left a lasting impact, fueling her lifelong passion for child protection and her commitment to being a voice for the vulnerable.
